Our program is designed for individuals who have prior professional work experience, who come from diverse backgrounds and geographic locations, and who seek to work in global business environments. Our unique program attracts a diverse population of students, creating a rich learning experience. The integrated curriculum includes leadership training and development, communication skills enhancement, an in-depth view of how business is conducted on a global level via an international trip, and a career services class and mentorship opportunities to ensure future career success. Curricular Innovation Our integrated MBA program is built on a foundation of basic business skills, ones every global business manager needs to know. Because alliances and partnerships are an integral part of business success, the first year core curriculum's holistic approach to business includes an emphasis on integrated business perspectives that will provide you with the tools and skills you need to apply to real-world situations. With team-exercises and cross-functional, team-taught modules, our program is built around learning modes that are specifically developed to meet our students' educational needs. Students may take an optional one-week prep course covering accounting, economics, finance, and statistics prior to Core I. Core I (August - 1st three weeks) lays the business basics foundation, essential computer skills, team building, and communication skills. Core II (August - December) is a 15 hour integrated class, which consists of two parallel tracks: What Every Global Manager Needs to Know, regarding business basics, and What Every Global Manager Needs to Know about Integrated Value Chain Management, both within and across firms in the value chain. In addition, there is a 1-hour career-development course designed to ensure a successful internship and full-time job search. Core III & HUBS (January - May) is a 15 hour course, which consists of a 9 hour course that continues the two tracks from the fall semester. For HUBS I and II, students enroll in their first concentration and elective courses. By receiving additional in-depth training in their concentrations prior to the Summer Internship, students enhance their internship experience. Fall II (final semester) is when students complete concentration and elective courses plus a 1-hour capstone course and a global business strategy class. Concentration options include finance, innovation and entrepreneurship, logistics, marketing, and operations management. Innovative support areas include global business, information management, healthcare, and sport management. Faculty: Faculty members who teach in the MBA program are selected for their outstanding teaching, research, and experience working with corporations. Many of the UT MBA faculty members are instructors in the executive education programs delivered through the Center for Executive Education. Working with corporate leaders, faculty members learn the kinds of skills and talents companies value and what they are likely to need in the future. They bring these concepts into the classroom to more accurately prepare MBA students for the competitive world they will enter after graduation. Accomplishments/Recognition:
The UT MBA Program enrolls students each year whose military experience adds significantly to the richness of the interactive classroom and team project experience. The small class size is ideal for developing strong relationships with faculty and classmates that will serve as a solid professional network during post-MBA career. We encourage qualified candidates with military experience to apply to our innovative program. ![]() |
