Admission Requirements
Three things comprise a completed application:
- An online application, which requires candidates to provide basic information, a resume, a statement of purpose, and contact information for two individuals who can serve as references
- A copy of the undergraduate transcript
- A GMAT or GRE result
There is no application fee; the Olin Admissions Committee seeks to judge all serious candidates on the merits of their application, not on their ability to pay an application fee. After all three items above have been reviewed, the Committee extends interview invitations to select candidates.
Description of Learning Environment for Students
At Washington University, students find a supportive community where
each person's interests and ideas make a difference. Approximately 150
students start the Olin Full-time MBA Program each August -- making it
among the smallest of the top-tier programs -- so they’re assured of
receiving individual attention from the faculty and staff.
In addition to its size, distinguishing characteristics of the Olin MBA include an academically challenging curriculum that allows a very high degree of flexibility, and numerous opportunities for applied learning -- especially ideal for MBAs transitioning from the military. At Washington University, students designs a program of study that enables them to build on strengths and interests; to broaden their knowledge; to sharpen their business skills; and to incorporate their personal, professional and extracurricular experiences.
Olin students are especially attractive hires for top companies around the globe. The staff of Olin's Weston Career Center are career coaches, job-search partners and overall advocates, helping our MBAs build the networking, interviewing and negotiating skills for a lifetime of career management.
Tuition
All of Washington University’s graduate business programs are full participants in the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill’s Yellow Ribbon Program. Tuition rates for all our programs for the 2011-12 academic year can be found on our website.
Special scholarships, up to and including to full tuition, are available for U.S. military veterans applying to the Full-time MBA Program.
Faculty
Olin faculty come from a variety of backgrounds, but all are committed to guiding students to personal accomplishment in their particular fields. Their personal biographies reveal a comprehensive, incredible depth of expertise across all areas of business and management. The Olin MBA faculty have an open-door policy -- they are accessible for one-on-one consultations, to address an individual's specific educational needs -- and are eager to help students succeed.
