MBA Degree Programs

The Fisher College of Business offers both full-time and part-time degree programs with a variety of majors and career tracks. Because our curriculum is flexible, every Fisher MBA degree is different. You can specialize in a wide range of business disciplines by choosing from over 100 business electives. You may choose a traditional major, such as:

  • Data Analytics
  • Finance
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • International Business
  • Leadership and Organizational Behavior
  • Marketing
  • Operations and Logistics
  • Strategy

Students can also create their own major to combine skills from different areas into the major that best fits their goals.

You may also choose to customize your degree to focus on areas such as:

  • Entrepreneurship
  • Enterprise Sustainability
  • Health Care Management
  • Real Estate Management

Our unique position as a small program within one of the world’s largest research universities also enables you to add specialized knowledge from an academic area outside of Fisher to further customize your MBA degree. Students are often interested in complementing their business study with courses in sports management, agriculture, public policy and health care administration.

Admission Requirements

The decision about which graduate program to choose is among the most important and most difficult decisions you will ever make. You have only one chance to make the right decision, and will receive much advice--some of it conflicting--on what’s best for you. At Fisher, our goal is to help you make this important decision correctly—to help you work through complex and confusing choices to make a decision that enables you to reach your full potential and provide the best opportunity to achieve your educational and career goals.

This concern for the individual is one of the most consistent features of the Fisher MBA program. Although we are among the most selective leading MBA programs, our selectivity is based on many factors, not just your GMAT score. This inclusive approach enables students with a broad range of qualifications to be admitted, allowing you to be a part of a small, elite program where diversity enables you to learn as much from your peers as from your professors, and where ethics always underlies the decision-making skills you’ll learn in class.

Description of Learning Environment for Students

In the classroom, our individualized approach enables you to study with professors who actually know who you are. When your unique talents and individual plans require more specialization, you have the option to study independently or to select classes from over 100 other graduate programs at The Ohio State University. You will have every opportunity to learn what you need to in order to realize your dreams.

Outside the classroom, our program to support leadership and professional development helps you to sharpen your professional skills and gain the ability and confidence to become a leader in tomorrow’s global business environment, enhanced by working alongside the brightest classmates the world has to offer and taking advantage of many opportunities to travel and study abroad.

Along the way, your personal career counselor will guide you in your search for your perfect job. Our record of career placement success—among the best in the industry—makes us confident that you can be among our many success stories. From start to finish, the focus is on you.

Faculty

The Fisher College of Business has more than 100 tenure-track faculty members, which does not include the numerous lecturers and leaders from the business world we invite to share their knowledge with our MBA students.

Our faculty is committed to innovation and to developing cutting-edge theory. They author acclaimed publications. And they fundamentally influence the way leadership and management are practiced. In class, they draw on a variety of teaching methods and business experiences to challenge your assumptions and prepare you to lead business practices in the future.

Leaders And Innovators In Their Field
Fisher faculty members are internationally recognized leaders in the study of supply chain and logistics, operations management, strategic management and leadership, corporate and investment finance, marketing, human resources, organizational behavior, and economics.

They are active in national and international business communities, serving as consultants, board members, and key speakers at conferences and seminars. With these industry connections you will have exclusive access to the latest research before it even filters into the business world.

Hands-On And Interactive

Our professors use a mix of lecture, case study, and hands-on learning, selecting the methods best suited for the topic and the experience level of students. Some are also creating and adopting innovative new teaching tools and simulations to further challenge you and enrich your business school experience.

Collaboration flourishes across disciplines within Fisher College and around the university, generating new and better ideas. Our faculty is closely affiliated with the business world, whether through their consulting activities, involvement in our centers of excellence, or as members on the boards of both start-up firms and Fortune 500 companies. Their professional experiences flow quickly into the classroom as fuel for fresh, dynamic courses and excellent teaching.

Up-Close And Personal
With our 3-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio, you will have more contact with business thought leaders than in most other MBA programs. As a student you will learn first-hand about the latest research insights — and will even be able to influence it through your contributions in class and through projects and joint publication opportunities.

As a rule, professors have an open-door policy, which will allow you to engage in one-on-one dialogue and to share your thoughts and insights first-hand. There are ample opportunities to socialize with faculty, whether at an informal school picnic or during our regularly scheduled "coffee and a bagel" events in the MBA student lounge with faculty from different departments. These are just some of the many advantages of joining a smaller MBA program.
