Learning Environment for Students

Our Veteran Community
Goizueta Business School is proud home to an engaged veteran population. Our Goizueta Veterans Club and Emory Veteran Association link student-veterans across degree programs. Their activities engage our veteran alumni network as well as the active Fortune 500 company veteran organizations here in the Atlanta area. With dedicated points of contact across Admissions, Career Management, and academic/student life, student-veterans find many willing resources available for assistance. And our veterans find that Goizueta’s seven core values closely resemble those they hold from their military careers: courage, integrity, accountability, rigor, diversity, team, and community.

Our Experiential Approach
Students at Goizueta benefit from a rigorous education focused on experiential learning. Our innovative curriculum elevates the intensive case study method with practical applications in team-based assignments and peer-to-peer learning. For example, leadership development activities including peer coaching, the Fort Benning Leader’s Reaction Course, and sailing the high seas; and our Management Practice course is a core requirement where students learn different approaches to problem-solving, persuasive presentation, and team collaboration and use these skills to develop real solutions to a real problem for a real client. Our veterans find this course to enhance skills developed in the military and help them translate their approach to the civilian workforce.

Student Life
At Goizueta, you’ll learn from world-renowned faculty and engage with a curriculum that is hands-on, client-focused, and immersive. Our small by design classes result in a 5:1 student-to-faculty ratio that enables you to forge lasting relationships with faculty, program and career staff, and your classmates alike that will enhance your academic experience and enrich your career. The supportive, tight-knit community means you'll find not only the attention you need, but you'll also have all the leadership opportunities you can handle.

Your MBA experience is enhanced through co-curricular involvement that expands your outlook through our 60+ clubs and organizations and countless activities. Explore the best our city has to offer — from arts and culture, professional sports, and top-rated restaurants to countless outdoor activities. Events don't stop when you're back on campus.

All students participate in Keystone — our signature learning experience packed with personal development, community service projects, and social activities. Also take advantage of the Alumni Speaker Series, Dinner with the Dean, and Thursday Kegs in the courtyard just to name a few.

Location
Bold, welcoming, dynamic, diverse, and thoroughly innovative. More than 75% of the Fortune 1000 companies have a presence in the Atlanta area with 16 Fortune 500 companies headquartered there (think The Home Depot, UPS, Delta, The Coca-Cola Company). It’s also one of the country’s top tech hubs, a global FinTech capital, and has a thriving startup community. Goizueta is connected to it all – and you will be too.

With a thriving music scene, an exponentially growing movie industry, world-renowned restaurants and breweries, beloved sports teams, artists both emerging and established, and an ever-growing diverse population, Atlanta isn’t just the cultural hub of the South, it’s becoming a major cultural hub in the U.S.

As a major U.S. city both in terms of population and business, there are sidewalks and buildings a-plenty, but Atlanta still manages to keep its canopy and green spaces thriving. Forests, national parks, rivers, mountains — Atlanta has it all. Its blend of city and serenity makes it the best of both worlds. And with average rent prices much lower than other cities, the best thing about living in Atlanta is that you’ll have the financial freedom to truly enjoy all it has to offer.

Faculty

Goizueta faculty are active players in the global marketplace. They’re researchers, insight builders, solution finders, and leaders in their fields. Not bound by mindsets, old ways of thinking, or the status quo, they tackle research that shapes business worldwide. Our faculty works closely with students to mentor, support, challenge, and push them and industries forward.

Notable military veteran LTG (Ret) P. Ken Keen serves as Associate Dean of Leadership Programs. He co-teaches the leadership curriculum and coordinates experiential learning—including our student experiences at the Ft. Benning Leader’s Reaction Course—across MBA formats. His formidable military experience brings a unique perspective to conversations about leadership in civilian careers, and he provides additional support to our active-duty and transitioning service members in the MBA programs.
