Description of Learning Environment for Students

The Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder fosters a supportive and collaborative environment that encourages intellectual competition and the sharing of ideas in an eager and receptive environment. A key differentiator of the Leeds School is our focus on how ethical, sustainable business practices enhance the way we conduct business today.

Whether it's the Socially Responsible Enterprise course, a course on smart growth in real estate development, or courses on how environmental management can result in corporate profits, the Leeds School is dedicated to encouraging programs that contribute to the world's understanding of the impact business has on society.

The goal of the MBA program is to provide you with a rich educational and extracurricular environment that will prepare you for success in an increasingly complex global work environment. Professors use a blend of formal lectures, class discussions, case studies, and company-based consulting projects to offer you a comprehensive understanding of world business. In addition, co-curricular activities sponsored by the school, student organizations, and the business community enhance the academic experience by providing you with a wide variety of projects, mentors, internships, and networking opportunities with the professional community.

Faculty

As world-class academics involved in business research, private consulting and international teaching opportunities, Leeds faculty members bring cutting-edge perspectives to the MBA program. Additionally, the School has established several centers to promote research and involvement in specific areas. The reputations of the Robert H. and Beverly A. Deming Center for Entrepreneurship, the CU Real Estate Center, the Center for Education on Social Responsibility, and the Richard M. Burridge Center for Securities Analysis and Valuation play a key role in the school's success. The centers conduct current research in their respective areas and provide important interaction with high-level professionals in a dynamic environment.
