October 16, 2004: Military officers with MBA degrees and ex-military in general are in high demand by corporations, according to the operators of two Web sites that cater to such candidates.

"When officers combine military leadership with an MBA, it's a winning combination for all types of employers", says Greg Eisenbarth, executive director of Military MBA, a network of universities with degree programs for active, reserve, and retired military officers (www.militarymba.net).

Job placement for civilian MBA-holders has declined about 25%, he says, while MBA-degree holders with military background are reporting 100 percent employment upon graduation.

In addition, Transition Assistance Online (www.taonline.com) reports employment demand for ex-military officers internationally, especially in the Middle East, is greater "than it has ever been before", according to Alex Baxter, managing partner of the e-recruiting site.
